3 days of zodiac navigation and trekking to the San Rafael glacier viewpoint, with nights at the Laguna Caiquenes campsite and marine wildlife spotting.
We begin the zodiac navigation from Bahía Exploradores to Laguna San Rafael, with stops at Isla Leonor and Punta Leopard, plus other points of interest depending on the group's interests. Includes breakfast before boarding and a picnic-style lunch by the fjord. We arrive at Laguna San Rafael in the afternoon, staying in fully equipped Lotus Belle tents (sleeping bag, thermal sheets and blankets). Day 2: breakfast, then a hike to the Laguna San Rafael viewpoint (3-4 hours round trip). Light lunch and zodiac navigation around Laguna San Rafael, visiting the elephant seal colony and taking in the glacier wall and icebergs. Visits to different beaches. Sunset from the boat or the beach, depending on weather and tide. Dinner. Day 3: breakfast and a walk to the San Rafael dock, visiting the old ruins of the Hotel San Rafael. Gathering and boarding the boat for the return to Bahía Exploradores, enjoying an on-board lunch with views of the glacier wall. On this program you may spot flora such as coigüe, canelo, nalca, ñirre, ciruelillo and Guaitecas cypress, among others, as well as the endemic Hebe salicifolia, found only in Laguna San Rafael National Park. Birds typical of the evergreen forest and fjords, and marine mammals such as leopard seals, elephant seals and Chilean and southern dolphins.
